I found coverage for tomorrow's class :) and am off to South Africa

Hello Everyone,
Have a great Spring Break. I know I will now that Ann Matsuuchi has agree to cover my class tomorrow. Ann, huge shout out to you. You are the best. Thank you Community 2.0 and its blog for facilitating faculty connections :)
Will post in few days from South Africa

  1. Great use of the community resources.

  2. Aww, thanks for the props. My thanks also to this venue for making these connections happen. After the midterm, I started talking to one of the students researching Japanese American masculinity and internment camps (and I've got a ton of family experience, etc. to help there...) How cool is that?

  3. It's very immature and unprofessional for me to be jealous, right? But, I AM! I often cover the Japanese Internment camps with films and poetry and Haiku. Many of our students are (probably most people of this generation)remarkably unaware of the dismal treatment given Japanese Americans.
I am sooooooooo dying to go to South Africa! Let's chat when you get back.

  4. @Ann: THAT's what this is all about--building community. I'm glad you got to meet the student. :-)
